The muse d'Orsay has the world's richest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings.
This could not fail to inspire the designers at Macon&Lesquoy, who say that the museum is their second office.
As part of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, the parisian institution asked M&L to revisit the museum's iconic works with embroidery.
In these 4 brooches, they tried to reproduce the emotion linked to the reactivity of colors, the movement of the brush and the material of paint.
Manufacture
The embroideries of the brooches are created and designed especially by M&L designers. They are entirely handmade, in cannetille thread, according to a very old Indo-Pakistani technique. That's why in 2009, M&L recruited embroiderers in Pakistan where they built their craft workshop.
